ACPA Volunteering at a Glance

WHO?

The Appleby College Parents’ Association (ACPA) includes all parents and guardians of current students at Appleby College, along with Alumni Parents and Honorary Members. All members of the Appleby community are welcome to attend regular ACPA monthly meetings. The ACPA relies on adult volunteers and student volunteers to help staff numerous fundraising events and community services that the organization provides. The contribution of each and every member is valuable and appreciated.

WHAT?

Volunteering with the ACPA provides a rewarding way to become involved with the events, programs and people that support our school. Volunteers are welcome to help with any of the many activities that are run and/or staffed by the ACPA and in cooperation with Appleby College.

WHERE?

Many volunteer activities take place on or around campus, however, it is also possible to volunteer from your home, or your place of work. Monthly ACPA meetings, which are open to the Appleby community, occur on campus in the Raymond Massey Reading Room.

WHEN?

There are numerous opportunities throughout the school year for involvement to suit your schedule. You can volunteer during the day, the evening, or the weekend. You can volunteer once a week, once a month, or once a term – whatever suits your schedule.

HOW?

Signing up for ACPA activities can be easily done by using the Volunteer Enrolment Form. For further information, please contact our parent volunteer coordinator Joanne Akdeniz by e-mailing volunteers@appleby.on.ca or contact any member of the ACPA Executive. The Chapel Guild

The Chapel Guild is a fun group of volunteer parents who meet monthly to care for the John Bell Chapel. We also gather to decorate the Chapel, most notably at Christmas and Graduation. This is a relaxed and friendly volunteer position, and a good place to meet other Appleby community members. Many of the ACPA Executive members’ volunteer experience at Appleby College started with the Chapel Guild.
