The Executive Committee has seven Officers, namely the President, the Past President, First Vice-President, Interguild Representative, the Treasurer, the Recording Secretary and the Corresponding Secretary/Alumni Parent Liaison. The Officers’ respective duties are recorded in the Constitution and Bylaws. The Constitutional duties of the Officers are recorded below:
The President shall preside at all meetings of the membership and the Executive Committee. The President shall sit on the Board of Governors of the school as well as the Appleby College Foundation. The President shall be an ex-officio member of all Committees except the Nominating Committee. The President shall mentor the First Vice-President.
The Past President shall be Chair of the Nominating Committee.
The First Vice President shall assist and support the President and be engaged in the activities of the ACPA. In the absence of the President, the First Vice-President shall fulfill the duties of the President.
The ACPA Interguild Representative is responsible for the organization of grade photos and graduate photos.
The Communications Officer shall send to the membership all notices and letters and shall conduct the correspondence of the Association except as otherwise provided. The Communications Officer shall be responsible for relaying and updating information to the persons responsible for Appleby This Week, Alumni Ties and the ACPA web page content.
The Recording Secretary is responsible for sending out notices of Meetings and the draft minutes in a timely manner. The Recording Secretary shall keep the minutes of all meetings and forward approved copies of same to all members of the Executive Committee and the Principal’s Assistant for distribution to the Board of Governors.
The Treasurer shall be responsible for all monies collected or disbursed. The Treasurer shall receive and deposit in a separate bank account all monies paid to or for the Association. The Treasurer shall keep the books of account and present a financial statement at the Annual General Meeting.
