Dr. Michael Peirce

Arriving at Appleby College in 1985, Michael Peirce witnessed the evolution of Appleby. First joining the faculty as a math teacher, Michael held a variety of roles during his 25-year career at Appleby including: Assistant Head of Student Services, Assistant Head of Curriculum, Assistant Head of Information Technology, Associate Head of School and eventually Head of School; in this role, Michael launched the Peer Counselling Program, which continues to be an important element of the school today. His wife, Carmen, and daughters, Jennifer '05 and Lindsay '07, also played active roles in the Appleby community. Michael retired from Appleby in 2010 and is concentrating on his consulting practice, Peirce Educational Consulting. He is the author of four published books that help students through the university selection process and is working on a fifth.
