Instructional Badminton - Co-Ed - WABDSCStudents will learn the rules of the sport of badminton and participate in doubles and singles matches in a non-competitive atmosphere. Instructional Badminton provides numerous opportunities for students to pursue lifelong sports, fitness activities and recreational pursuits. Coaches emphasize the components of fun, fair play and positive attitudes while the participant learns to play the game of badminton.

Rugby - Boys - * U14, Junior Division 1 and Junior Division 2, * Senior Team - WARG1MRugby is a core sport at Appleby. The school has a rich rugby history that includes a number of CISAA championships and winning seasons. The Senior program has also had good success at the CAIS Invitational event. A program highlight is the opportunity to tour with the Senior Team. Recent tour parties travelled to Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Wales, England, Ireland and Scotland. Appleby is also a popular destination for international teams and, as a result, students have the opportunity to play against teams from other countries.

Soccer - Girls- * U14, Junior, * Senior Team - WASO1FThe program begins in Middle One when every student is introduced to fundamental skills during physical education classes. Girls can choose to play on the school teams at all levels and each successive year fundamentals are reviewed with an increasing emphasis on technique, skill, speed and team strategy. All teams play in the competitive CISAA leagues with top teams in each league participating in the end-of-season cup tournament. Fitness and the ability to run become more important as a student progresses through the age groups. The Senior Team, in addition to continued drills and games with the ball, devote time to specific fitness training. As well as playing in the very competitive CISAA league and cups, the Senior Team has visited the Bahamas and Virginia as pre-season trips, to experience the culture, play soccer and quickly achieve game fitness.

Softball - Boys- * U14, * Senior Team - WASB1MAt the U14 level, play consists of six to eight games per season against other CISAA schools. Students learn the game basics and are taught offensive and defensive skills. The Senior Team plays in the competitive CISAA league. Higher skills are expected and more emphasis is placed on strategy. The players are required to possess the necessary skills required to play against highly skilled independent schools.

Softball - Girls- * U14, * Senior Team - WASB1FThe U14 program is a developmental team focusing on game fundamentals in preparation for play at the Senior Team level. The Senior Team strives to be an intensive and competitive program. Appleby girls have enjoyed success over the years and each new season is met with that same championship passion. The girls’ Senior Team competes in the CISAA league and regularly benefits from tournament play in Quebec.

Tennis - Co-Ed- * U14, Junior, * Senior Team - WATN1CBoth the boys’ and girls’ teams consist of three doubles teams and two single players. Students are encouraged to improve both personal fitness and skills, while learning game strategies to use in competitive situations. All athletes have the opportunity to train on campus courts and play in the independent school league games. The season ends with a CISAA championship tournament.
