PRESIDENT'S WELCOME A Strong Start to 2020! With the busy Christmas season behind us, we look forward to the exciting events that come with the New Year. But first, let's reflect on some of the fun we had during the holiday season! During the November ACPA Coffee Morning, we made ornaments and table centrepieces to transform the Schlesinger Dining Hall for the holidays. The ACPA Tree Trimming was a fabulous event, and the mood was amplified by all the incredible extras - the cocoa station, music, antlers, and of course, a visit from Santa! Both fun and festive mornings were thanks to the hard work of ACPA social committee representatives Kelly Mehlenbacher, Edyta Wojdalowicz and Sepideh Faridrad. Our beautiful John Bell Chapel was decorated and looked magical for the Carol Services; thank you to ACPA chapel guild executive Donna Cappuccitti and the volunteers for their assistance, we couldn't have done it without you!
Over the winter months we will be busy preparing for our spring events. ACPA Grade Parties and staff appreciation representatives Suzanne Williamson and Bridget van Akkooi have started planning the ACPA Employee Appreciation Lunch which will take place on Friday, April 24. The Social Committee is hard at work on the ACPA Spring Social, a casino night, which will be held in the A.W.B. Alumni Centre for Athletics and Student Life on Saturday, May 2. Tickets are on sale now! More details for both events will be in Appleby This Week in the coming months.
The College Shop continues to thrive and grow; new items are being added all the time, so be sure to stop in and see the latest Blue Dog apparel. If parents and visitors wish to visit the College Shop during regular hours, please park in the main lot and walk to the door with direct entrance to the College Shop on the East side of the A.W.B. Alumni Centre, ring the doorbell and wait for assistance. A very special thank you to Mary Rawlinson, College Shop coordinator, for her hard work and fantastic attitude. The Tuck Shop is setting records and its success is due mainly to the hard work of Caitlin Roberts and Rachel Belcher, who tirelessly try to find new and healthy items to add to the shop. With the help of almost 100 volunteers, the College Shop is a shining example of teamwork at its best!
Be sure to check the ACPA section of Appleby This Week to stay on top of all the upcoming events and meeting times.
Thank you all for your involvement, energy and enthusiasm!
Sincerely,

ACPA in Action Caledon Ski/Snowshoeing Day Annual ACPA Tree Trimming and John Bell Chapel Decoration
After a fun-filled morning decorating the school, many volunteers stayed to help transform the John Bell Chapel into a stunning venue for the traditional Carol Services and Christmas Eve Service. Then the following week, florist Erika Carcone, along with a handful of parent volunteers and The Chapel Guild, finished the trimming with brilliant arrangements, candles, fresh wreaths and greens, along with red sinamay fabric. The Chapel Guild would like to thank those who helped and hopes to have even more of our community participate in making the Chapel look spectacular for this year's graduation ceremony in June.
They say many hands make light work; this was definitely the case for take down this year. We had a record number of students, parents and grandparents that came out to help put everything away and it took no time at all. Thank you again to everyone! ![]() ACPA Update Archive The ACPA Update e-newsletter is published three times per year - in the fall, winter and spring.
