As summer winds down, it’s hard to believe that another school year is just around the corner. It feels like only yesterday we were celebrating the achievements of the Class of 2025, and now we’re preparing to welcome students and families for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Summer is a time for both rest and reflection, but it’s also when we begin gearing up for all that lies ahead. With cooler days and back-to-school preparations underway, we shift back into our regular routines, and are ready to embrace new opportunities and the excitment of the coming school year.

This fall, the alumni calendar kicks off in October with our much-anticipated Homecoming Weekend. We look forward to welcoming the Class of 1975 into the 50-Year Club, celebrating the 25th reunion of the Class of 2000, and honouring milestone reunions for all classes ending in '0 and '5. Homecoming Day, on Saturday, October 4, promises to be another memorable event, drawing hundreds of alumni, families, and friends from across the Appleby community.

Beyond campus, we’re thrilled to connect with alumni near and far through regional events across Canada and internationally. We’re also excited for the return of the Appleby Gala in April 2026, which is a highlight on our calendar not to be missed. Keep an eye out for more details on these and other opportunities to stay connected, and stay involved.

I am also delighted to introduce Joanne Graham as Appleby’s new Alumni Director. Joanne joins us from Sheridan College and brings a wealth of experience in both education and the not-for-profit sector. She has already hit the ground running and is eager to meet many of you at Homecoming and throughout the year.

Here’s to a great year ahead, full of connection, community, and celebration!

Homecoming Is A Month Away!

With Homecoming 2025 just one month away, we look forward to welcoming you back to campus to celebrate Homecoming Weekend from October 2 to 4, 2025. With three days of activities and celebrations planned, this is a great chance to come back to campus, celebrate reunions, and re-connect with your classmates and former teachers.

For classes ending in '5 and '0 and members of the 50-Year Club (all classes of 1975 and earlier), 2025 is a milestone reunion year for you!

Grad Class Gift

As part of Appleby tradition, each graduating class comes together to support a meaningful initiative through their Graduating Class Legacy Gift. This year, the Class of 2025 chose to support the creation of a Blue Dog Statue, a bold and spirited symbol of Appleby pride. The statue is now proudly installed outside the Burns Foyer in the Student Commons Building, serving as a vibrant reminder of the school’s values, spirit, and student legacy.

We’re proud to announce that the Class of 2025 achieved an incredible milestone—100% participation—with over $5,000 raised in support of this initiative. Their unity and generosity reflect the strong sense of community and leadership that defines the Appleby experience.

The Blue Dog Statue will be a meaningful gathering point on campus for years to come—a symbol not only of school spirit, but of the lasting impact our students can make when they come together with a shared purpose.

When visiting indoor spaces on campus, please check in at Reception located in the Nicholas Arts Centre. If you wish to meet with a specific individual, we kindly ask that you make arrangements in advance.

While check-in is not required for outdoor visits, we ask that you not interrupt any classes, activities, rental groups, or camps on campus.

Appleby's Class Notes provides alumni with the opportunity to update the Appleby Community with news of recent happenings and photos, as well as make updates to your contact information.
