Where Our Boarders are From
Welcome to Boarding Life
An Integral component of The Appleby College Experience
Boarding life at Appleby College offers a diverse and inclusive community where students build lasting friendships across four houses—Baillie, Colley, Walker, and Powell’s.Students enjoy intramural sports, recreational activities, life skills sessions, and house competitions. Events like Homecoming and Camp Appleby bring together students, alumni, and families, fostering strong relationships and mutual respect.
From morning to evening, Appleby’s Boarding Life programme equips students with opportunities for growth! While engaging in academic, social, cultural and personal growth opportunities students gain life skills laying a solid foundation for adulthood: accountability, communication, time management, conflict resolution, understanding of others, collaboration, respect, self-discipline and confidence.
Our boarding community brings together more than 270 students from over 40 nationalities and cultures. While living together in one of Appleby’s four Boarding Houses, students learn to embrace and value cultural differences through daily interactions with fellow students from different countries.
