Leadership Camps
LEADERSHIP CAMPS
Leadership Camps are designed to develop confident young adults. Through various team building activities, these camps (designed for ages 12-17) help build confidence in decision-making, enhances communication with team members and creates an inclusive environment in which campers are encouraged to step outside of their comfort zone.
Note about ages for camp: If your camper is currently 6 and turns 7 during the calendar year (before December 31st), they are eligible for camp options for campers ages 7 & older. They are also eligible for our Discovery Sr. programs. You can decide which would be the better fit for them, considering when they turn 7, level of maturity, being the oldest vs youngest in the group and other factors that contribute to a successful experience. The same applies for campers who are currently 9 turning 10 during the calendar year; they are eligible for both Junior (ages 7-10) and Senior (ages 10-14) camp options. Please call our office if you wish to discuss.

SENIOR LEADERSHIP (14-17 YRS.) |
Senior Leadership Campers ages 14-17 years will have the opportunity to enjoy Appleby's Campus overnight. Campers will be dropped off on Sunday afternoon and will have 5 nights to experience Appleby at night. We will have evening programming, early morning activities and days filled with excitement. Although not a requirement, Senior Leadership Campers will build on the skills learning in Junior Leadership including: group dynamics, communication, cooperative learning, leadership styles, followership and confidence and will also delve deeper into how to apply those skills based on situations and settings. Senior Leadership Campers will also learn about their diverse communities through a one-hour presentation, covering subjects such as the 2SLBTQ+ acronym, pronouns, and other important subjects to ensure that we are serving our diverse camper community with the utmost respect. The week will include Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification (a requirement to volunteer and/or work at Appleby Camp) along with recreational swim time in our indoor pool, a hot breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and a campfire night. By the end of the week campers should feel confident in their ability to think quickly, be proactive, be flexible, and have the overnight experience close to home.
