March Break Camps Overview
Appleby's March Break Camps are organized into four major programs, offering something for everyone ages 4-13. We have Early Discovery Camp designed for younger campers ages 4-7, while older campers will enjoy Sports & Adventure, Arts & Media, or our Science & Success camp programming. Appleby’s outstanding campus boasts state-of-the-art athletics facilities including 4 full-size gymnasiums, a 3-storey climbing wall and 4 squash courts, numerous visual and performing arts spaces and dance studios, indoor pool, Willis Hall (performance theatre), multi-media labs and high-tech classrooms. These features, combined with expert instruction and small group sizes, ensure a dynamic and fun experience for every camper!
Appleby March Break Camps feature highly qualified instructors, low camper to instructor ratios, nutritious lunches, and swim times. Our standard hours are from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. each day with drop-off and pick-up between 8:30 - 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 - 4:00 p.m. All camps run on our beautiful 60-acre lakeside campus in southwest Oakville.
Appleby Camps is a fully accredited member of the Ontario Camps Association (OCA). The OCA has and continues to be recognized as a worldwide leader in organized camping for children and youth. Member camps must adhere to the highest standards of safety, supervision and quality programming.
Instructors are recently certified in First Aid and CPR-C, have passed a police check and participate in Appleby’s pre-camp safety and skills training course. Camper to instructor ratios are low with a target of 5:1 in Early Discovery programs and 8:1 in all other programs. All instructors deliver engaging activities and programs and have experience caring for children in their specific camp program. Many are qualified teachers, coaches, recreational specialists or early childcare educators.
We are partnering once again with Loveable Labels and Mabel's Labels to try and make sure every camper's clothing follows them home after a great week at camp. Please visit their site to place your order before camp begins, and select Appleby Camps as the fundraiser.

SCIENCE & SUCCESS CAMP (7-13 YRS.) |
Appleby’s March Break Science & Success Camp is experiment- based camp, igniting campers' interest in science and is designed as a sampler camp of all our science camps! This camp promotes the love of science, engineering and technology to campers. Daily programming involves designing, building and experimenting with innovative projects in a fun atmosphere. In this highly interactive camp, budding scientists are taught to develop their intuitive nature, collect data, study nature, and will learn just how fun engineering & science can be. From robotics, to volcanoes, slime, an intro to game design, and the exploration of nature, campers will use Appleby’s extensive science facilities and equipment every day. Groups will be created to match level of tech ability and scientific knowledge. Our aim is to create interest through participation, and every day campers will enjoy science experiments, and tackle creative challenges and projects. |
SPORTS & ADVENTURE CAMP (7-13 YRS.) |
Appleby’s popular Sports & Adventure Camp gives campers an opportunity to try their hand at a wide variety of sports, games, and team challenges and is designed as a "sampler" camp for our summer programs. Blending instruction, competition and fun challenges creates a great experience for all participants. Our staff is an exceptional collection of certified teachers, instructors, assistants and volunteers who entertain/educate daily. Work on a variety of athletic skills and drills as we navigate through different sports each day at camp. Co-operative tasks while physically distant and challenges help these developing athletes to gain an appreciation of teamwork, adaptability, and respect for instruction and rules of play. Our aim for this camp is to nurture an appreciation of sport and provide an environment where all campers achieve success regardless of their athletic ability. Appleby campers get a chance to enjoy the use of amazing facilities including our many gymnasiums, squash courts, indoor pool and the oustanding A.W.B. Alumni Centre for Athletics and Student Life! Grouped by age and ability, campers will realize measureable gains in coordination, confidence and appreciation for various sports and games! |
What Is The Waitlist Policy?
To help place as many campers into programs (and off of waitlists) as possible, we thank families for their cooperation regarding our wait list policy. When families are contacted by the Camp Office with news of an available spot in one of their waitlisted camps, they will have the choice to either accept or decline the offer, at which time all other spaces their camper is waitlisted for in that week will be released. Families will not have the option to decline one waitlisted spot, in the hope of getting into another camp. So please select your camps (and waitlists) carefully! Thank you for your cooperation in helping us get as many campers in their top choice of programs.
