Appleby College Parent's Association

The Appleby College Parents' Association (ACPA) invites parents or guardians of current and past students to actively support the community that is Appleby College.

Volunteerism is an integral part of the Appleby experience. Since 1928, the ACPA has provided a variety of excellent volunteer opportunities by organizing both friend and fundraising events in conjunction with Appleby College. Welcome!

The Appleby College Parents' Association (ACPA) enjoys a long-standing relationship with Appleby College. Since its founding by Lady Edith Baillie in 1928, the role of the ACPA has been “to take an active interest in the comfort and well-being of our students through co-operation with the Principal.”

The ACPA’s mandate supports the Board of Governors of Appleby College, the Appleby College Foundation, the Principal, the faculty and administration, as they provide an outstanding educational experience to the students in their care.

The ACPA includes all parents and guardians of current students at Appleby College, along with Alumni Parents and Honorary Members. All members of the Appleby community are welcome to attend ACPA monthly meetings. The contribution of each and every member is valuable and appreciated.

ACPA Volunteering At A Glance

Appleby’s mission is to educate and enable young men and women to become leaders of character, major contributors to, and valued representatives of their local, national and international communities. This can only be achieved with the help of our many volunteers. Volunteering provides a rewarding way to become involved with the events, programmes and people that support our school. There are numerous opportunities throughout the school year for involvement to suit your schedule.

To get started, simply complete the online Volunteer Enrolment Form.

Please note that all Appleby College volunteers are required to complete a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (CRC-VSS) before they begin volunteering. Volunteers are responsible for obtaining their own CRC-VSS (also referred to as a Vulnerable Sector Check), and it must be renewed every three years to remain eligible to volunteer at Appleby. In addition, all volunteers must complete the Declaration Re Criminal Record form each school year as part of the annual volunteer renewal process.

Once you have completed your Volunteer Enrolment Form, you will receive a welcome email with additional information about volunteering at ACPA events. Keep an eye on Appleby This Week (ATW) throughout the school year for volunteer sign-up opportunities at ACPA events. You are also welcome to contact the ACPA Volunteer Coordinator, Anu Dhillon, at any time to learn more about upcoming events and how you can get involved.

Once you receive your CRC-VSS results by mail or email, please submit them by emailing a copy to Gabrielle Duffy, Officer, Parent Relations & Events. All Criminal Record Check information is kept strictly confidential, and you will be contacted directly if any additional information is required.

If you have any questions about volunteering or the application process, please contact Anu Dhillon, ACPA Volunteer Coordinator, or Gabrielle Duffy, Officer, Parent Relations & Events.

OPPORTUNITIES

College Shop

The College Shop, Sustainability Shop, and Lost and Found are located in the A.W.B. Alumni Centre for Athletics and Student Life. All three areas are operated by the Appleby College Parents' Association and staffed by parent volunteers. Profits from these services go to the ACPA and are redirected to benefit the school.

If you are interested in volunteering at the store, please contact the ACPA College Shop Coordinator, Pam McKenzie, at collegeshopcoordinator@acparents.ca.

Follow the College Shop on Instagram!

Throughout the school year, the College Shop is open Monday to Friday from 11:20 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. Visit the shop for all your school needs, including gym clothes, spirit wear, school supplies, and more. Prefer to shop anytime? The Online College Shop is available 24/7 for both in-store pickup and home delivery. If you would like to schedule a time to visit the shop outside regular hours, please email Lori Latter at LLatter@appleby.on.ca.

The College Shop carries all approved gym wear, team wind suits, school ties, calculators, stationery supplies, fun wear, House items, and a variety of Appleby-branded gifts.

The Sustainability Shop offers gently used uniform pieces—including blazers, kilts, pants, shirts, and gym clothing. All items must be clean before being donated or sold.

If an item in the Lost and Found Cupboard is labeled, parent volunteers will email students directly. If you are searching for a missing item, please email lostandfound@appleby.on.ca and include a brief description of the item in the subject line. Please note that the Lost and Found Cupboard is cleared out twice a year.

For any general inquiries about the College Shop, please contact applebycollegeshop@gmail.com.
