STEP 2: applicant checklist
Within two days of submitting your application form, you will receive a welcome e-mail from a member of Appleby’s admissions team. This e-mail will include instructions on how to access an applicant checklist which has been assigned to you and which will allow you to track the progress of your child's application. Included as part of the checklist are the following items:
CONFIDENTIAL SCHOOL REPORT: Please ask one of your child’s Teachers, their Principal or a Guidance Counsellor to complete and return directly to Appleby College the Confidential School Report. Once completed the form can be e-mailed to admissions@appleby.on.ca or sent via mail to 540 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, Ontario, L6K 3P1.
PROOF OF AGE: A copy of the applicant’s passport, birth certificate or other legal document that confirms applicant’s age.
REPORT CARDS: A copy of your child’s final report card from the 2021-2022 school year as well as a copy of their final report card from the 2020-2021 school year. If your child has received an interim report card from the current 2022-2023 school year you can also submit it.
KIRA TALENT INTERVIEW: Following submission of their application, Appleby College will send an invitation to complete an online assessment for Admissions 2023-2024. Included in the e-mail will be a set of instructions outlining the steps to take. This e-mail will be sent to the Parent 1 e-mail address provided in the Household Information section of the application form. If you are submitting an application form for more than one child, a member of Appleby’s admissions team will contact you to confirm which address the Kira Talent online assessment should be e-mailed to.
ADMISSIONS INTERVIEW: Should you be contacted for an interview with an Admissions Officer upon submission of your application, every effort should be made to arrange a personal interview. A Skype, Microsoft Teams or Zoom interview may be arranged when distance creates a great inconvenience.
SIR EDMUND WALKER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME (OPTIONAL): Appleby offers a merit-based scholarship in the form of the Sir Edmund Walker Scholarship programme, named after the school’s founding patron. Up to 5 new incoming students to Appleby will receive $20,000 per year starting with the recipient’s year of entry. The full scholarship amount will be applied directly against annual tuition fees. We encourage all applicants to learn more about the scholarship by clicking here. The application deadline is December 15, 2022.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (OPTIONAL): Appleby’s commitment to financial assistance is designed to ensure that financial need should not prevent a student from reaching their full potential. All financial assistance decisions are need based and are designed to assist families who believe in an Appleby education but are unable to meet the full financial commitments. Applications are reviewed by an independent financial services firm, Apple Financial Services. For more information please click here. Students applying for financial assistance are strongly encouraged to submit their application in concurrence with their admissions application as it can take four to six weeks for Apple Financial Services to process.
