How to Apply

We are delighted that you are considering enrollment at Appleby College. To apply for admission to Appleby, please follow the steps below. Students who complete the application process by October 31, 2019 will receive notification of their status by December 13, 2019. Applications received after December 13, 2019 will be assessed on a rolling basis as of February 1, 2020.

STEP 1: ONLINE application form

As the first step in the application process please complete the online application form by clicking on the Apply Now button below. Please note, you will be asked to create an account before proceeding to the application form. It should take you approximately 5-10 minutes to complete the online form. Once you have completed the form you will be asked to pay the school's non-refundable application fee. For Canadian residents the fee is $200, for International residents the fee is $300.

After you have submitted the online application form you will need to return to this page to complete the remaining steps in the application process. 

STEP 2: REPORT CARDS

You will need to provide a copy of your child’s final report card from the 2018-2019 school year, as well as a copy of their final report card from the 2017-2018 school year. You can click on the button below  to upload the report cards.

If your child has received an interim report card from the current 2019-2020 school year you can also upload it by clicking on the button below. If they have not received an interim report card, you will need to provide that to us in order for your child’s application to be complete.

STEP 3: CONFIDENTIAL SCHOOL REPORT

Please ask one of your child’s Teachers, their Principal or a Guidance Counsellor to complete and return directly to Appleby College the Confidential School Report. To access and download the Confidential School Report form please click on the button below. Once completed the form can be e-mailed to admissions@appleby.on.ca or sent via mail to 540 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, Ontario, L6K 3P1. 

STEP 4: PROOF OF AGE

Please upload a copy of the applicant’s passport, birth certificate or other legal document that confirms applicant’s age. You can click on the button below to upload the Proof of Age document

STEP 5: INTERVIEW

Should you be contacted for an interview with an Admissions Officer upon submission of your application (within two to three business days of receipt), every effort should be made to arrange a personal interview. A Skype interview may be arranged when distance creates a great inconvenience.

STEP 6: SIR EDMUND WALKER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

Appleby offers a merit-based scholarship in the form of the Sir Edmund Walker Scholarship programme, named after the school’s founding patron. Up to 10 new incoming students to Appleby will receive a one-time $10,000 scholarship to be used towards their tuition. STEP 7: FINANCIAL Assistance (if required)

Appleby’s commitment to financial assistance is designed to ensure that financial need should not prevent a student from reaching their full potential. All financial assistance decisions are need based and are designed to assist families who believe in an Appleby education but are unable to meet the full financial commitments. Applications are reviewed by an independent financial services firm, Apple Financial Services. For more information please click hereTo access the financial assistance application forms, please click the button below. Students applying for financial assistance are strongly encouraged to submit their application in concurrence with their admissions application as it can take four to six weeks for Apple Financial Services to process.

STEP 8: ESL Language Assessment (if required)

a) If you did not provide test date information on the Application Form in Step 1 and your child is a non-native English speaker applying for grades 10 through 12 please provide your TOEFL or IELTS or Vericant* test date. For non-native English speakers applying for grades 7 through 9 please provide your TOEFL Jr. or iTEP or Vericant* test date.

*Vericant is only available in China. To learn more about Vericant, please click here. Appleby reserves the right to request an English language test pending results of the Vericant interview.

b) For applicants whose English language test results are available, please upload a copy of their test results by clicking on the button below.

STEP 9: ACADEMIC ACCOMMODATION (if required)

Appleby College Student Services is committed to accommodating the needs of students with disabilities in a way that responds to a student’s unique circumstances. In accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code, Appleby will accommodate the needs of students with disabilities to allow them to access educational services equally, unless to do so would cause undue hardship. While the school does not have a special education department, we are able to offer certain accommodations to assist students with special needs to develop their individual potential. STEP 10: EDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENT (if required)

To help us ensure that the applicant (upon condition of acceptance) receives the appropriate support needed to have a successful experience at Appleby, please share with us any diagnosed physical or emotional challenges or specialized learning needs and upload a copy of their last assessment by clicking on the Educational Assessment button below.
