Cooking is fun because it's like one big experiment, and best part is…. you get to taste the outcome!
Chefs in Training is a hands-on experience run by professional chefs that focuses on getting our campers comfortable and confident in the kitchen. Serving as an introduction to the culinary arts, in this camp participants will get to try new foods, read recipes, and practice food preparation basics such as measuring, mixing, and knife handling! This high-in-demand camp has a strong focus on food hygiene and kitchen safety, as such, in addition to the aid and supervision of our qualified staff, our budding chefs will be paired or grouped in rotation to allow each camper to participate with and as a "peer safety spotter" during the practice of advanced cooking/preparation techniques. And let's not forget about the best part of this camp: when the food is ready each camper will get to eat their tasty creation and/or take it home to share... that is if they save any for you! Campers will also enjoy a hot, nutritional lunch and recreational swim.
Campers are encouraged to bring their favourite aprons as well as containers to bring home their recipes each day.
Whether you have experience helping in the kitchen or have never cooked a thing, you will leave this camp with new skills, increased confidence and an appreciation for the value and importance of what we eat. Let's get cooking!

This camp aims to be fun, encourage and motivate young photographers, stimulate their imagination, and inspire creative freedom. Campers must be prepared to bring a functional digital DSLR camera that offers a range of exposure and focus control, fully charged battery, memory card, empty USB Thumb Drive and lots of enthusiasm.
This camp is about learning to use the functions of your camera to take pictures of people and places and things with increased predictability and control well beyond mere snapshots. Using Photoshop campers will make their digital photos really stand out, starting from basic adjustments, progressing to advanced artistic control for creative results. Learning about ‘The 5 Rules’, The Golden Ratio and raw vs. JPG, inserting text (even 3D) to images to make an ad for cupcakes, B/W conversions and pull zoom techniques. Campers create their own Photograms (yes, a real darkroom using B/W paper and processing chemicals), the print is taken home by the campers. A professional photographer and camp staff provide top-level instruction in all fundamentals essential to learning and improving photography skills.
The program also includes a well-rounded day with supervised recreational activities outdoors, energizers, photo scavenger hunts, recreational swim time and also includes a nutritious lunch, with hot selections.
Each campers’ week culminates in designing a collage displaying their best photographs which is printed to be taken home and they create a slideshow of their images shot during the week, using I-Movie, that family and friends are invited to attend.
