Thank you for considering Planned Giving with Appleby College. For many of us in the Appleby College community, our memories of the school are filled with vivid reminders of why Appleby is such a special place. We recall cherished friendships, victories won and experiences learned. And, while much has changed over the years, we continue to take pride in knowing that our school is recognized as one of the leading independent schools in the country.

Leave a Legacy

Appleby’s reputation has been shaped in large part by the generosity of our community. Our very roots began with Sir Edmund Walker and the gifts he left to Appleby which include the initial 32-acre farm and funding for the original School House (now Colley House) over a century ago.

To honour his legacy, the school created the Sir Edmund Walker Society to acknowledge and recognize the support of our Alumni, parents, faculty, employees and friends through whose generosity Appleby has been able to provide an exceptional educational experience. Their gifts helped create a lasting legacy that students of successive generations have had the privilege to experience. Leaving a legacy or planned gift allows you to provide future support for the areas and programmes of greatest importance to you.

There are several different ways to make a planned gift:

  • will bequests
  • life insurance, securities
  • retirement funds
  • charitable annuities

As planned giving often includes consultations with family and advisors, Appleby College’s Advancement Department would be happy to work with you and your team confidentially. To discuss your intentions or for more information about making a planned gift, please contact Jude Alexander, Chief Advancement Officer at 905-845-4681, ext. 161 or jalexander@appleby.on.ca.

Just as today’s students benefit from the philanthropy of past generations, future students will benefit from yours. Thank you!

Recently we sent a planned gift mailing to some members of the Appleby Community, featuring Winsor Pepall ’54. Please click here to read Winsor’s letter.

If you have included Appleby College in your estate plans, please see the Sir Edmund Walker Society information form by clicking here. To help us respect your wishes, please complete the form and scan and e-mail it to jalexander@appleby.on.ca or mail it to Advancement Department, Appleby College, 540 Lakeshore Rd. W., Oakville, ON L6K 3P1.
